The
Pioneers mascot is a large, loveable baseball who
wears a coonskin cap and buckskin pants. Unfortunately,
he didn't have a name. With the help of the Star-Gazette,
a contest was begun. What should we call this big
ball of fluff? Entries were collected from far and
wide. After a careful review, our new mascot selected
his name. From then on, the new Pioneer mascot would
be named "Stitches".
Stitches
is very friendly and wants to get to know all of
the children in the stadium each night, even though
he can't speak. He will be making his rounds of
the stadium and saying hi to everyone. During the
games, Stitches is available for pictures with
the children, so be ready with your cameras.
