Head Coach - Dan Shwam

This is Dans' first year with the Pioneers in the NYCBL. He previously managed the Pioneers from 1997 -1999, when the team was part of the Northeast league. He directed the pioneers to a championship in 1997. Over the last 17 seasons Dan has amassed 694 victories as an independent league manager. He has been named Manager of the Year on three occasions and led his teams to 3 league championships, 6 regular season titles and 14 playoff appearances. Prior to taking the helm in Elmira, Jackson, Newburgh or Alexandria, he spent five years as Hitting Coach of the Class "A" Salt Lake Trappers. He has also worked as a scout for the Florida Marlins, Montreal Expos and Milwaukee Brewers.
Pitching Coach - Cody Castle

This is Cody's first year with the Pioneers. He has two years experience as Pitching Coach for Ashland College. He pitched professionally for four years, three with the Florence Freedom (Frontier League) and one year with the Quebec Capitales (Can-Am League). Cody is Florence's all time leader in saves and was named to the frontier League All Star team in 2008.

Bench Coach - Jeff Kunion

This is Jeff's first year with the Pioneers in the NYCBL. He previously served as Bench Coach and Player Personnel Director for the Pioneers from 1997- 2003. He then worked four years as Director of Player Personnel and Bench Coach for the North Shore Spirit (Can-Am League). In 2008 & 2009 he was Bench Coach & Director of Player Personnel for the Florence Freedom (Frontier League), for whom he continues to serve as Director of Player Personnel.
