Ryan Giblin - Head Coach
Currently an assistant coach at Millersville University, Ryan Giblin enters his first season as coach of the Pioneers. Previously, he was a shortstop and third baseman for the Pioneers during the 2006 and 2007 seasons, and was a member of the 2007 NYCBL championship club.

Giblin played collegiately at Mansfield University, where he was a three-time all- Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference selection at shortstop. The 2008 team captain and MVP, he was third on the squad with a .425 average and led the team in triples last season. Giblin was also selected to the first team All-North Atlantic Region, and was a NCWBA All-America Honorable Mention selection. Following his superb campaign with the Mounties, he was signed by the Windy City Thunderbolts of the independent Frontier League.

At Neshaminy High in Langhorne, Pa., Giblin was a three-time Bucks-Mercer American Legion All-Star and a two-time Lower Southampton American Legion MVP.


Jeremy Gulich - Pitching Coach
Former Elmira Pioneer and Horseheads High School star Jeremy Gulich has been hired by Pioneers’ head coach Ryan Giblin as the club’s pitching coach for the 2009 season.

Gulich spent the 2008 season as an assistant coach at William Penn University. There, the Statesmen went 26-15 and reached the NAIA Region VII tournament. He joined the coaching staff after graduating from William Penn in 2007, posting a 17-9 record in 167.2 innings of work over four seasons.

He pitched with the Pioneers in 2006, making 12 appearances out of the bullpen. Prior to William Penn, Gulich pitched collegiately for two seasons at Hudson Valley Community College, where he led the squad with a 6-0 record, a 3.46 ERA, 55 strikeouts in 65 innings pitched in 2003.
 
At Horseheads, Gulich played two years of varsity baseball, earning All-State honors in 2002 after registering a school-record 0.44 ERA and posting a 8-3 record.
