The Elmira Pioneers, members of the New York Collegiate Baseball League proudly announce that veteran minor league baseball executive and former Pioneers General Manager Pat McKernan has been named Executive Vice President & General Manager.

McKernan has more than 25 years experience operating minor league baseball teams. He served as General Manager for the Pioneers in 2002 and 2003. Prior to joining Elmira he was Assistant General Manager for the Albuquerque Dukes, the Class "AAA" affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

"I worked with Pat when I was previously with the Pioneers and I was always impressed with his knowledge of how to run a minor league team. Quite simply, he knows what to do and how to do it.", said Pioneers President Jeff Kunion.

The Pioneers also named Cory Siegrist as Assistant General Manager. Cory, who most recently was a Sales manager for Adidas, spent a year as Director of Operations for the Atlantic City Surf of the Can-Am League.

"Cory brings additional experience to the staff. He knows how to run the stadium on game day and his enthusiasm and sales experience will help bring more fans to the ballpark.", stated Kunion.

The team will shortly announce the Pioneers schedule and promotional dates for Dunn Field this summer. Aside from fireworks shows and familiar on field promotions, the Pioneers will be adding many giveawys in 2010. Lucky fans can expect to receive LCD HD TV's, weekend getaways to Orlando and HD DVD players.
